About the Journal
Scientific and Technological Reports (Sci. Tech. Reports) is the official institutional/local research publication of Research Development and Extension Services of Cavite State University – Naic. The Journal accepts research article from CvSU – Naic constituents and contributor/s not affiliated at the University. The Journal is peer-reviewed published semi-annually (December and June), multidisciplinary in discipline with focus on five thematic areas:
1. Agri-fisheries Food Security;
2. Biodiversity and Environment Conservation;
3. Smart Engineering, ICT and Industrial Competitiveness;
4. Societal Development and Equity; and
5. Public Health and Wellness.
Accepted papers will be published online first! The Journal accepts two (2) types of articles for publication as follows:
Original Research Article: Manuscripts should not exceed 3,500 words (excluding references).
Review Article (by invitation): This type of article focuses on the in-depth critical review of a special aspect in five thematic areas and also provides a synthesis and critical evaluation of the state of the knowledge of the subject. Manuscripts should not exceed 6,000 words (excluding references).
Peer Review Process
Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by external reviewers and/or the editorial board of Scientific and Technological Reports. The Journals utilize a single-blind peer-review process, which means that both reviewer and author identities are concealed throughout the review process. The peer-review process is outlined as follows:
1. Manuscript should be submitted through research@cvsu-naic.edu.ph.
2. The Managing Editor will perform the pre-screening process. Prescreening process is conducted if the manuscript submitted follows the author guidelines, falls within the scope of the journal, 15%, and below similarity index is attained, and assesses the academic value of the paper. The pre-screening process usually takes up to five (5) working days after the submission.
3. The Managing Editor will inform the author of the decision on the pre-screening process.
4. The Managing will select the appropriate reviewer of the paper which usually takes up to five (5) working days.
5. The paper will undergo a peer-review process that will be conducted by one (1) external peer-reviewers and (2) internal reviewers, which usually takes up to one (1) month. After the peer review process, the reviewed manuscript may be classified as either: (a) Accepted (b) Accepted with minor revisions (c) Accepted with major revisions or (d) Rejected
6. Accepted manuscripts classified with minor revisions will be returned to the corresponding author and will be edited for two weeks. While accepted papers with major revisions will be returned to corresponding authors for 2-week edition and revision;
7. The Editor-in-Chief will release its final acceptance letter of the submitted manuscript.
8. The Managing Editor will process the copyright transfer and will prepare the manuscript for galley proof, which will take up to 2 weeks.
9. The Managing Editor will return the galley proof of the manuscript to the corresponding author for final proofreading. This process will take up to 2 weeks.
10. The Editor-in-Chief will approve the final copy of the manuscript for publication.
11. The Managing Editor and website Manager will post the manuscript online first.
Publication Policies
Open-Access Policy
The Journal provides open access to its content conforming to the principle of making scientific advancement and research freely available to the public, supporting the greater exchange of knowledge.
Copyright Transfer
The copyright to the published article is transferred to the CvSU-Naic Research Journal, organized by Research Unit, Research Development and Extension Services of Cavite State University – Naic. Articles should not be reproduced in any form without the written permission from the copyright holder.
Publication Charges
The journal does not charge any processing and publication fees to the contributor. However, authors should shoulder the payment of the hard copy should they request for self-copy.
Plagiarism Policy
Submitted manuscript will be subjected to Turnitin. All manuscript should have 15% and below similarity index otherwise it will be rejected.
Privacy Statement
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
Submission Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items. Manuscript submissions will be returned to authors if they do not adhere with these guidelines:
1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in email and/or letter to the editor).
2. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
3. The data availability statement has been provided.
4. The submission should be accompanied with cover letter duly addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, indicating that the manuscript is not submitted to other journals and no conflict interests is seen among author/s.
5. Three possible reviewers of the paper should be provided in the end of the manuscript with complete details (e-mail and affiliation).
